EM iterations

Nicos Markides
Hello Slicers,

Is there any way to configure the number of iterations that the EM algorithm
is performed in the EMSegmenter Module ?

Thank you, nicos

Re: EM iterations

Hi Nicos,

Great question :
- Go to Step 8  (the step where you define the class weight )
- select a Class that has sub classes such as Intracranial Cavity for the task MRI Human Brain
-> Select the tab Stopping conditions
-> Define the number of EM Iterations that the program should run when segmenting the class into the subclasses . In other words , for each class  that has subclasses you can specify the number of iterations you want EM to run .

This panel also allows you  to run EM until it converges . Furthermore, MFA  refers to Mean Field Approximation , which is run at each EM-iteration to smooth out the segmentation results.

Let me know if you need further instructions

Kilian
