Fwd: PLUS configuration for Imagic Agile Ultrasound

Vlad
Hello.
We are trying to achieve real-time tracking using Slicer3d in Urology surgery.
And faced with problem to connect our Imagic Agile Ultrasound device to PC/Notebook. (http://www.medwrench.com/?equipment.view/equipmentNo/1586/Kontron-Medical/Imagic-Agile/)
Found http://www.slicerigt.org/wp/user-tutorial/ but can't setup a config file for our device.
Is there any suggestions?

And how to connect physically? Via ethernet? (all ports you can see on attachment)

Thank you!

Best regards, Vlad Tereshchenko.

Hi Vlad,

I think you need to buy a frame grabber the get the images from this machine. Connect the frame grabber to the output on the machine where you would connect a monitor. PLUS can communicate with a couple of types of frame grabbers: https://www.assembla.com/spaces/plus/wiki

Note that PLUS is a separate software, Slicer would not communicate with the frame grabber.

Alternatively, you could also ask the manufacturer of the ultrasound if they provide any kind of research interface to the machine. If you have programmers on your team then it doesn't take too much time to implement support for a new machine with research interface in PLUS.

I would recommend these framegrabbers, as they provide good image quality and speed at reasonable price, and fully supported by Plus:

·         Epiphan DVI2USB 3.0 (http://www.epiphan.com/products/dvi2usb-3-0/) if your ultrasound has VGA or DVI output about $700)

·         ImagingControls DFG/USB2PRO (http://www.theimagingsource.com/en_US/products/converters/dfgusb2pro/) if your ultrasound has S-VIDEO output (about $300)
