installation of slicer3-build on windows

madanrao
Hello all,

I am having difficulties in installing slicer3-build on cygwin in Windows Vista system using Visual Studio 8.

After failing several attempts of downloads and builds (due to CMake compiler errors) I am wondering:

(1). whether a random attempt of downloads and builds might be successful (which seems to be easy one)

(2). try install Visual Studio 9.

(3). Switch to Linux.

Can anyone please advise?

AM Mohan Rao

Hi Mohan,

Can you send the compiler errors that you are getting?

Thanks,

Katie

Hello,

Thanks.

I understand the Jan update instructions say that python exclusion is done automatically.. I will look into it later (as it is 2:40am here now).

I am enclosing couple of files which give an idea on the type of errors.

Madan-

I am going to try and replicate the issue on my windows machine. I'm using
a 64 bit XP machine and Visual Studio 2008 express.

Hi all,

Is there any progress towards a 64 bit build for Windows platform? The
only thing that is holding me switching from Analyze to Slicer is the
lack of 64 bit support for Windows platform. Linux is not a possibility
for us.

Is there no demand for it?

Best,
Murat

Hi -

I haven't tried in a couple of years.  In the past there were issues
with some of the dependencies (can't recall the details).  These may all
have been resolved by now.

Has anyone tried recently?

Re: installation of slicer3-build on windows

madanrao
Hello Steve,

Thanks.

I think I got it working now. The problem seems to be some obsolete software (VS6,VS8) in my system.

I reinstalled latest SDK , Visual Studio 9 and Slicer3 builds with no errors.

Although it passes through all the tests, I need to verify whether I can successfully use the modules.

regards,

AM Mohan Rao
